The man was standing in the desolate park. Something had caught his eye, something obscured by the icy darkness. He didn’t seem fearsome but resolute as if prepared to stand his ground against the advent of an enemy. These strange days it is easier for the mind to entertain thoughts of enemies in the form of the unexplained. I didn’t stick around for the emergence of the man’s interest out of the dark – the chill up my spine hurried me home, to my warm, well lit home.
